WHAT’S ON

THE BEATDOWN

THE BEATDOWN “Batman & Robin” / Community Dance Battle Event by Lighthouse Famz

THE BEATDOWN is a local dance community event hosted by the Lighthouse Famz to provide a platform for the Auckland Dance Battle community to develop. Every Beatdown event is run differently to meet the needs of the current season for dancers. This particular - “Batman & Robin” involves an experienced Adult dancer partnering with a younger dancer making a tag team duo. This means younger dancers can be encouraged and empowered by an older dancer leading up to entering a larger battle event.

The event provides:
A Platform for the new Krump Klubs to perform/participate or attend to grow awareness and experience with dance
Build connection between community & creative art groups/teams
Provide a free community arts event for the local area
Festival stalls / Free Community Activities & Performances
Participants: 30-50 dancers/competitors (including 7-17yr old dancers)
