Māngere Ōtāhuhu Creatives

Māngere Ōtāhuhu Creatives shined the spotlight on creative individuals and groups in the wonderfully diverse Māngere and Ōtāhuhu Local Board area. The project aimed to share their creative stories with the local community and the rest of New Zealand to highlight and celebrate the richness of arts and culture in Māngere and Ōtāhuhu.

The Fala was the second series of the web-series Fala Talks. The Fala is a platform for Pacific people to feel accepted and comfortable enough to share their struggles and successes. In 2013, it was recorded that more than 60 percent of Māngere and Ōtāhuhu residents were Pacific peoples. The Fala aims to combat the negative perceptions of Pacific peoples, by letting them share their unheard stories.

Both projects were delivered by Māfana Creative, supported and funded by the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board under Māngere Ōtāhuhu Arts.
