Siva Afi Online Festival 2022

Siva Afi Festival is a pioneering event that brings the talents and skills of wāhine and rangatahi to the fore, through a centuries-old traditional art form from Samoa – siva afi/fire knife dancing.

Due to New Zealand moving to RED under the COVID-19 Protection Framework, the live Siva Afi Festival event has been cancelled and moved online. Join us in celebrating our exhilarating digital line-up of performances including: Popea Lautala, Le Taupou Manaia – Auckland, Tautua Dance and Wellington Siva Afi, Wahine Toa Afi Exhibition and more.

Experience the phenomenon of siva afi ailao as South Auckland hosts an online fire knife competition between local secondary schools alongside a free festival of wāhine toa afi performances, which are sure to light up Tāmaki Makaurau this summer.

Saturday 19th Wāhine Toa Afi Competition
Sunday 20th NZ Schools Siva Afi Competition.
FREE viewing from 7:00pm – 9:00pm
