The Māngere Ōtāhuhu Arts website Noticeboard and E-Newsletter is a place for creative artists, groups and organisations in the local area to share, seek, promote, and post a "call-out" to the local community.
You can submit your notice for either the Noticeboard, or the monthly E-Newsletter or both. We'll also endeavour to share your notice on the Māngere Ōtāhuhu Arts Facebook page if you like.

Fenoga Tāoga Niue I Aotearoa - Niue Heritage Journey In Aotearoa

Falepipi He Mafolo Niuean Handcraft Group Inc celebrate their 30th Anniversary

Falepipi he Mafola Niuean Handcraft Group Inc. Will be celebrating their 30th Anniversary at Māngere Arts Centre Ngā Tohu o Uenuku (MAC). This milestone will be marked with the opening of their exhibition and the launch of their self-published book, both titled Fenoga Taoga Niue I Aoteraoa Nuie Heritage Journey in Aotearoa.

The exhibition and publication will offer unique insights into the 30-year journey of Ōtāhuhu based Falepipi he Mafola Group through projects and treasures made by the collective minds, hearts and hands of past and present members. It honours over 50 loved ones that have since passed on and the wealth of knowledge, skills and wisdom of the current living tāoga, treasures.

about?

Falepipi he Mafola Group set up on 1 April 1993 with founding members from the Niue villages, established to provide a nurturing space for elders adn their families to foster wellbeing, independence and maintain their identities as Niueans living in Aotearoa New Zealand.

The group has been meeting at Ōtāhuhu Town Hall Community Centre every Thursday from 10am to 2pm since 1993. They plan an invaluable role in preserving the knowledges and practices of Niuean culture and heritage here in Aotearoa.
