do you have news or an event you’d like to share or promote?

The Māngere Ōtāhuhu Arts website Noticeboard and E-Newsletter is a place for creative artists, groups and organisations in the local area to share, seek, promote, and post a "call-out" to the local community.
You can submit your notice for either the Noticeboard, or the monthly E-Newsletter or both. We'll also endeavour to share your notice on the Māngere Ōtāhuhu Arts Facebook page if you like.

CAST GLASS WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN, WITH SUSAN LOUIE

INTRODUCTION TO CAST GLASS WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN 9-12 YEARS OLD - WITH ESTABLISHED CAST GLASS ARTIST, SUSAN LOUIE.

When: Saturday 8th Sept 10am - 4pm & Saturday 15th September, 10am - 1pm. 
Cost: $60 per child, includes materials.  BYO lunch/drinks. 
Where: Nathen Homestead, 70 Hill Rd, Manurewa
NB: Masks and gloves are required to be brought for personal use.

CHILDREN will work with a wax model, learn how to pour wax and create a wax casting, ready for firing and for casting in the kiln. Children will be able to learn to carve and imbue their own wax models on the Saturday before investing and steaming. On the following Saturday the children will return to see their own creations in lead crystal glass.

The workshop is held in conjunction with Auckland Creative Communities and 800 Degrees Glass.
